Next Monday will be the start of the 2008 Wyndham Championship. Sedgefield looks wonderful! Every year I am amazed at how the course transforms into a PGA TOUR event.
Walking Scorers and ShotLink Operators’ training sessions has been CANCELLED For Thurs, Aug. 7th starting with Walking Scorers at 6:30 pm and ShotLink at 8:00 in the evening. The second training session will be Sat, Aug 9th with Walking Scorers’ training at 1:30 and ShotLink at 3:00. Saturday's Training will be held at Grandover in the amphitheatre.
After Wednesday, August 6th the best way to get in touch with me is to call my cell. The number is 336.508.4878. We are still taking Volunteers but the areas have changed. Volunteers are needed in Will Call, On Course Ticket Sales and with Elizabeth McKinney, Spectator Services. These areas are in dire need of help.
The rest of this newsletter includes last minute notes and tips to have a great time on course. Please read carefully and if you have any questions, please call me at 336.508.4878.
· Remember to bring your credential. You will not be allowed in the parking lot without your pass.
· Please bring your Wyndham string bag, poncho and handbook. You will need these items on course.
· Shuttle starts at 5:30 am every day except Wed which is 5:00 am. Shuttle stops at 7:00 pm.
· Cameras are allowed Mon. thru Wed. NO CELL PHONES.
· Folding chairs are allowed but you need to remove the bag.
· Remember to bring sunscreen, sunglasses and binoculars.
· Hole captains are responsible for getting food, snacks and water to volunteers.
· Be sure to get pairing guides from the Volunteer Pavilion.
· Parking is in the old Jefferson Pilot Building parking lot for Volunteers.
· Directions to the course are on the website: www.wyndhamchampionship.com or www.sedgefieldcc.org.
· Volunteer Pavilion opens Mon at 7:30 am, Tues at 7:00 am, Wed, Thurs and Fri at 6:00 am, Sat and Sun at 7:00 am. The Pavilion closes at 7:00 pm except Sun which is 6:00 pm.
· Golf Clinic is on Tues at Sedgefield at 4:30 pm.
· All other Volunteers check in at the Pavilion.
· We will put chairs in the tent overnight in the area that you work. Also, bike riders may store their bikes in the pack rats during their shifts.
· Gallery Control and ShotLink schedules are on the website.
· Learn the location of port-o-johns and EMTs when arriving in your assigned area.
· Please NO drinking during Volunteer shifts.
· Above all have fun and enjoy the day.
