Dare’s Doodles

 

The 2008 Wyndham Championship is off and running with the announcement of the move to Sedgefield County Club. We are very excited about the new location for this year’s event. Anytime a person makes a change, there are some good pieces and there are some difficult pieces. Leaving the Forest Oaks course is one of the difficult pieces due to all the wonderful times and the awesome people. The years at Forest Oaks have been great. I have had the pleasure of working with many wonderful people from the Forest Oaks Community and I appreciate all their efforts for the Tournament. I hope these Volunteers will continue to work with the Tournament to help make it a success. The good piece is that I will get to meet many new and wonderful people at Sedgefield. I am looking forward to them joining our Wyndham Championship Volunteer Family.

 

The online sign up is active and will be the method to volunteer for the Tournament. Volunteers will be able to choose one area per day to volunteer. Also, the reply will have that chairman’s email address. This way a Volunteer can communicate with the chairperson immediately about schedule and requirements for the position. Prepaid orders will receive a printable receipt which will be brought to the clothing pick up day. 

 

Our Volunteer Chairmen have remained the same this year. We have had some additions to areas. A new position is cart chair. This position will be filled by Brian Cruz. Brian worked with us last year and we are delighted to have him back. Scott Foster will be helping with ShotLink. Scott has been Volunteering with ShotLink for the last two years and knows the ropes. As new chairs are committed, we will keep you informed.

 

Finally, the clothing package price has increased. This year we are going with Ashworth’s line of golf clothing. Ashworth is one of the premier lines and our Volunteer shirt is one of excellent quality. The shirt will be 50% wicking. As of now, I do not know the color, but will let you know as soon as I do. Please know that this is the first price increase in many years. A poncho and hat will be included in the package.

 

At this point, Wyndham gift mailing is complete. I have received many positive comments from Volunteers. I hope eligible Volunteers have enjoyed the gift and had a relaxing time.
