GREENSBORO, N.C. – Harold Moose, longtime Public Relations Director at Furnitureland South in Jamestown, N.C., is the 2025 Wyndham Championship Honorary Chairman, the tournament announced today. The 86th annual Wyndham Championship is set for July 30-Aug. 3, 2025 at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C.
A Furnitureland South fixture since 1997, Moose officially works in public relations, but his actual role is more covert. Over the years, Moose says he’s hosted hundreds of professional athletes at the store. Perhaps the most influential was Jack Nicklaus, and his wife, Barbara, who opened the door to many PGA TOUR golfers.
Among the VIPs Moose hosts on a regular basis are PGA TOUR players and their wives during Wyndham Championship week. He works with the PGA TOUR Wives Association to host an annual event at Furnitureland South. In 2024, 39 PGA TOUR wives and eight players attended to play The Price is Right. Like the television game show, contestants guess furniture prices ranging from $1,000 to $10,000; the closest wins the item, and the company donates a shopping spree to charity on behalf of the TOUR Wives Association.
During last year’s tournament, Moose learned he would be the 2025 honorary chairman from one of his closest friends, CBS’ Jim Nantz.
“I had no idea,” Moose said. “I was in shock; I cried. I’m emotional especially when it came from Jim. We’ve been friends since the first year he was on TOUR, and Freddy Couples brought him to my house. Freddy stayed with me whenever he played here. Jim is one of my closest friends; I talk to him every week.”
“Harold is one of my dearest friends in my life,” Nantz said when speaking at the Pinnacle Financial Partners Forum Series at High Point University in May. “He truly is a loving person who has positively affected so many people, and there are about 100 PGA TOUR professionals that would love to have a microphone to deliver a testimonial about how much Harold’s meant to their families and how much he cares and would do anything for anybody.”
