GREENSBORO, N.C. – Rickie Fowler, one of the most-popular players in professional golf, will play next week’s Wyndham Championship, the tournament announced today. The 86th annual Wyndham Championship is set for July 30-Aug. 3, 2025 at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C.

Fowler joins FedExCup No. 7 Ben Griffin, former world No. 1 Adam Scott, Max Homa, 2022 U.S. Open Champion Matt Fitzpatrick, Scottish Open Champion and FedExCup No. 23 Chris Gotterup, FedExCup No. 15 Robert MacIntyre, FedExCup No. 26 and past champion Lucas Glover, FedExCup No. 29 Sungjae Im, FedExCup No. 30 Ryan Fox, FedExCup No. 33 Thomas Detry, defending champion Aaron Rai, past champions Kevin Kisner, Si Woo Kim, J.T. Poston, Tom Kim, two-time champion Brandt Snedeker and Webb Simpson in the field.

Fowler is a six-time PGA TOUR winner with three international wins also to his credit. He represented the United States in the Ryder Cup matches five times, the Presidents Cup three times, the Olympics in 2016 and as an amateur in the Walker Cup twice. Fowler finished tied for 22nd in the 2016 Wyndham Championship for his best finish in three previous Wyndham Championship starts. He is currently 63rd in FedExCup points and 101st in the Official World Golf Rankings.

“We love having Rickie in the Wyndham Championship field,” Executive Director Mark Brazil said. “Wherever he plays, he’s a major fan favorite. He’s been one of the most-popular players in the world for the last decade or more, and he’s one of the nicest and most-respected guys in professional golf.”
