Chrysler Classic Adds More Excitement to Fan Experience VF Merchandise Pavilion and Rock 92 Bleacher Creatures join relocated Primland Expo Center

GREENSBORO, N.C. – – Fans attending the Chrysler Classic of Greensboro later this month will be treated to a variety of changes designed to enhance their enjoyment of this year’s tournament. From the moment they exit the shuttle, new and exciting features will be evident. Below is a rundown of the changes they’ll experience:

The VF Merchandise Pavilion: The Chrysler Classic has teamed with hometown Premier Partner VF Corporation to provide affordable, high-quality merchandise in VF’s E. McGrath and Byron Nelson lines. Formerly located near the Forest Oaks clubhouse, the VF Merchandise Pavilion will now be located behind the hospitality tents adjacent to the 18th fairway. Shuttle busses from all parking lots will unload and load at the VF Merchandise Pavilion. Fans can check out the merchandise upon arrival at the Chrysler Classic and then make their purchases on the way back to the parking-lot shuttles. Fans will enter and exit Forest Oaks Country Club through the VF Merchandise Pavilion.
The Rock 92 Bleacher Creatures: In a new grandstand at the par-5 13th hole, Rock 92’s “P1 Listeners” will have access to this exclusive new grandstand at the 13th green and a bird’s-eye view of play as the PGA TOUR stars attempt to reach the green on this mammoth hole in just two shots. To become a “P1 Listener,” fans must locate one of the Chrysler Classic of Greensboro mobile billboards when prompted by the Rock 92 disc jockeys. The first 15 people that locate the mobile billboard when prompted win passes to become a Rock 92 Bleacher Creature.
The Primland Expo Pavilion: Located on the former site of the Chrysler Classic merchandise tent between the No. 1 tee and No. 9 green, this pavilion highlights the Primland Resort in Stuart, Va. and includes eight additional interactive exhibits. The Primland Resort features fly fishing, hunting, horseback riding, Sporting Clays and even all-terrain vehicle riding.
At the Chrysler Classic, the Primland Expo Pavilion will include fly-fishing lessons, a hunting simulator and a display about the resort. Also featured in the Primland Expo Pavilion are the LeBauer HealthCare blood pressure and heart health display; vacation giveaways from the Marriott Vacation Club; Eagle Classic Golf Memorabilia, where a percentage of all purchases will benefit Chrysler Classic of Greensboro charities; displays from TLC Vision Laser Eye Surgery and the Wall Street Journal; and live radio broadcasts when the Expo is open. The Primland Expo Center will operate Wednesday, Sept. 28 through Sunday, Oct. 2.
“Each of these amenities is designed to enhance the fan’s experience,” Tournament Director Mark Brazil said. “The 2005 Chrysler Classic of Greensboro has been called ‘The Year of the Fan.’ We’ve made admission to the tournament more affordable; we’ve upgraded our merchandise facility to provide high-quality, affordable products; and with the Rock 92 Bleacher Creatures, we’ve added a whole new dimension to the 13th hole, which was already a pretty exciting place. The Primland Expo Center will provide opportunities to get a blood pressure check, win free vacations, and learn about the Primland Resort, which is a fantastic facility that’s right in our back yard.”
The 2005 Chrysler Classic of Greensboro is set for Sept. 26-Oct. 2, 2005 at Forest Oaks Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. This year’s tournament marks the 10th anniversary of Chrysler’s title sponsorship and thanks VF Corporation and Harris Teeter for increasing their involvement to the Premier Partner level. Tickets are available at the tournament office at (336) 379-1570. Additional tournament information is available at www.chryslerclassic.org.
