GREENSBORO, N.C. – – The Chrysler Classic of Greensboro is still almost three months away, but with two new levels of sponsorship, corporate commitments for this year’s PGA TOUR event in Greensboro are well ahead of recent years at this time.
One company has increased its commitment and become the tournament’s first Premier Partner: VF Corporation, a Greensboro-based clothing business. Seven companies currently occupy the Tournament Patron sponsorship level: AIG United Guaranty, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, Crestor, the North Carolina Electric Co-op, Primland Resorts, Republic Services and United Parcel Service.
“Our goal is to be the best PGA TOUR event we can be,” said Tournament Director Mark Brazil. “If we’re going to be better, we have to think bigger. We created two new levels of sponsorship, and our major partners responded.
“VF will enjoy year-round benefit from their sponsorship. They will receive great brand exposure through the many avenues available at an official PGA TOUR event. Our premier partner represents a level of sponsorship that is second only to Chrysler. Our Tournament Patrons are also making major investments in the Chrysler Classic, and we are ecstatic about their increased involvement.”
The 2005 Chrysler Classic of Greensboro is set for Sept. 26-Oct. 2, 2005 at Forest Oaks Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. This year’s tournament is the 10th anniversary of Chrysler’s title sponsorship.
