CHRYSLER CLASSIC SPONSORSHIPS NEARING A SELLOUT

GREENSBORO, N.C. – – Chrysler Classic of Greensboro corporate sponsorships are selling well ahead of last year’s pace, and with nearly two months remaining until the tournament, sponsorships are nearly sold out. Hospitality tents and luxury suites at the 18th hole, skyboxes and luxury suites at the 13th hole and luxury suites behind the 15th green are all sold. Just three individual hospitality venues are still available: one tent at the par-four 14th hole and two skyboxes at the par-three 17th.
Harris Teeter and VF Corporation return this year as Premier Partners. Lincoln Financial is now a Tournament Partner and the new title sponsor of the Wednesday Pro-Am. The Coca-Cola Bottling Company and BB&T have also joined as Tournament Partners. BB&T has upgraded its hospitality by utilizing the new triple luxury suite behind the 15th green. While the Lincoln Financial Wednesday Pro-Am is sold out, a limited number of spots remain in the Monday Pro-Am.
“We’re in a strong position in regards to sponsorship with two months remaining before the Chrysler Classic,” tournament director Mark Brazil said. “We made solid progress in our sponsorship program last year, and our success to date this year is an extension of what we accomplished in 2005. Businesses are genuinely energized about not only what the tournament is now, but also what it will become next year as part of the FedEx Cup. We’re seeing this new energy from business leaders throughout the Piedmont Triad.”
The Premier Partner sponsorship is the level immediately below that of Chrysler. Tournament Partners represent the third level of Chrysler Classic sponsorship. Smaller sponsorship packages include the Champions Club, a hospitality tent adjacent to the 18th fairway where a company can purchase a table for 10 people Thursday through Sunday for $7,000 and the Sports Club, a hospitality tent on the 14th hole where companies will receive five tickets for Thursday through Sunday with food and beverage for $3,500. Both still have availability.
The 2006 tournament is the 11th and final event with Chrysler sponsorship. Tournament officials continue to search for a new title sponsor. “We are in discussions with several interested companies,” Brazil said. “It’s early in the process, but our results so far are very positive.”
The 2006 Chrysler Classic is set for Oct. 2-8 at Forest Oaks Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. The tournament thanks Daimler-Chrysler for 11 great years of partnership and Premier Partners, Harris Teeter and VF Corporation. Additional tournament information is available at www.chryslerclassic.org or through the tournament office at (336) 379-1570.
