Collin Morikawa wins Workday Charity Open, Enters Wyndham Rewards Top 10

Collin Morikawa claimed his second PGA TOUR win with a par on the third playoff hole in the inaugural Workday Charity Open. Standing on the 16th tee, Justin Thomas had a three-stroke lead. Morikawa made birdie at 17 while Thomas made bogey at 16 and 18 forcing a playoff. On the first playoff hole, Thomas made a 50-foot birdie putt from the back of the green, but Morikawa drained a 24-footer forcing a second playoff hole. Thomas had a chance to win it on the second playoff hole but missed his eight-foot birdie bid.

With the win, Morikawa jumped 15 spots in the FedExCup point standings and entered the Wyndham Rewards Top 10 at No. 6. With his runner-up finish, Justin Thomas jumped Webb Simpson into the top spot in the FedExCup point standings and the Wyndham Rewards Top 10.

Brooks Koepka claimed the $2 Million first-place bonus in the inaugural $10 million Wyndham Rewards Top 10 Bonus last season.  The Wyndham Rewards Top 10 not only adds drama to the Wyndham Championship as the final event before the FedExCup Playoffs but also puts an even greater premium on excelling over the course of the FedExCup Regular Season.

The top-10 Regular Season finishers in FedExCup points following the Wyndham Championship – also sponsored by Wyndham Rewards – reap the benefits of the Wyndham Rewards Top 10. The regular season points leader earns $2 million, followed by $1.5 million for the runner-up with the 10th-place finisher earning $500,000.
