Daniel Berger defeated Collin Morikawa on the first playoff hole to win the Charles Schwab Challenge, the first PGA TOUR event since early March. With his second PGA TOUR victory, Berger moved up 34 spots to 11th place in the FedExCup point standings and one position outside the Wyndham Rewards Top 10. Xander Schauffele finished tied for third, moved up two places and entered the Wyndham Rewards Top 10 in 10th place. Sungjae Im finished tied for 10th and maintained his lead in both the FedExCup point standings and the Wyndham Rewards Top 10.

The regular season points leader earns $2 million, followed by $1.5 million for the runner-up with the 10th-place finisher earning $500,000.
