EUROPEAN STARS ROBERT MACINTYRE, MATT FITZPATRICK JOIN FIELD

GREENSBORO, N.C. – FedExCup No. 20 Robert MacIntyre and 2022 U.S. Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick will play the Wyndham Championship in two weeks, the tournament announced today. The 86th annual Wyndham Championship is set for July 30-Aug. 3, 2025 at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C.

These players join FedExCup No. 6 Ben Griffin, Max Homa, Scottish Open Champion Chris Gotterup, defending champion Aaron Rai, FedExCup No. 25 and past champion Lucas Glover, FedExCup No. 27 Sungjae Im, FedExCup No. 28 Ryan Fox, FedExCup No. 33 Thomas Detry, past champions Si Woo Kim, J.T. Poston, two-time champion Brandt Snedeker and Webb Simpson in the field.

A native and resident of Scotland, MacIntyre is 20th in FedExCup points, 14th in the Official World Golf Rankings and 11th in the DP World Tour rankings. Known affectionately as Bob in Scotland, MacIntyre won two tournaments last season including the Scottish Open. His best finishes this season are second at the U.S. Open, tied for sixth at the Charles Schwab Challenge and the WM Phoenix Open and ninth at the PLAYERS Championship. The McNeese State University alumnus made his Ryder Cup debut for the European team in 2023. MacIntyre will make his third Wyndham Championship appearance later this month.

Fitzpatrick won the 2022 U.S. Open and then captured the RBC Heritage the following spring. A native of Sheffield, England, he played on the European Ryder Cup team in 2016, ’20 and ’23, and he represented England in the 2024 Olympics last summer. He finished fourth in the Scottish Open last weekend for his best showing of the season and tied for eighth at the Rocket Mortgage Classic and the PGA Championship earlier this season. The 2013 U.S. Amateur champion will make his second Wyndham Championship start and his first since 2018 when he finished tied for 36th at Sedgefield. He is 60th in FedExCup points, 39th in the DP World Tour Race to Dubai standings and 59th in the Official World Golf Rankings. He is a seven-time international winner.
