GREENSBORO, N.C. – New Breed Logistics, a privately-held, third-party logistics services provider, is the new title sponsor of the Wyndham Championship Wednesday Pro-Am, it was announced today.

“New Breed has been a strong Wyndham Championship supporter for many years,” tournament director Mark Brazil said. “We are thrilled about their increased sponsorship role in branding the New Breed Logistics Pro-Am. In the last three years, we’ve had some great success in regionalizing our event, and having New Breed, headquartered here in the Piedmont Triad, as our Wednesday pro-am title sponsor is another major step forward in our regionalism effort.”

Based in High Point, N.C., New Breed Logistics designs and operates efficient supply chains. The Company manages millions of square feet of warehouse space across more than 50 distribution centers in the U.S. and employs more than 6,000 people. “New Breed is proud to continue its support of the Wyndham Championship” said Louis DeJoy, CEO of New Breed Logistics. “It is important for the prosperity of the Triad that businesses engage in and sponsor events that contribute to the recognition and development of our community.”

New Breed has transformed the supply chains of some of the world’s largest and most respected organizations, including Avaya, Boeing, Hallmark, Hamilton Sundstrand, Motorola, Pratt & Whitney, Samsung Electronics, Siemens Medical Solutions, Sikorsky, Sony Electronics, the U.S. Marine Corps, the U.S. Postal Service and Verizon Wireless.
The New Breed Logistics Pro-Am will be contested on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at Sedgefield Country Club the day before official Wyndham Championship tournament play begins. The pro-am provides contestants an opportunity to enjoy the PGA TOUR player experience, if only for one day. Three amateurs are paired with one PGA TOUR professional, and the group plays a “shamble” with each player hitting a tee shot. The team goes to the location of the best tee shot, including that of the pro, and each player plays his or her own ball from that location. Each player records a score for every hole.

The 70th Wyndham Championship is set for Aug. 17-23, 2009 at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. Tickets are available at wyndhamchampionship.com or through the tournament office. The tournament thanks title sponsor Wyndham Worldwide and premier partners, BB&T, Harris Teeter and VF Corporation for their continued support.
