Top-25 FedExCup Players Paul Casey, Brooks Koepka, Ben Martin Join Wyndham Field

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Three PGA TOUR golfers with impressive FedExCup rankings, Paul Casey, Brooks Koepka and Ben Martin, will play the Piedmont Triad’s PGA TOUR event, the tournament announced today. The 76th annual Wyndham Championship is set for Aug. 17-23, 2015 at Sedgefield Country Club.

These players join World Golf Hall of Famer Ernie Els, reigning FedExCup champion Billy Horschel, 2007 champion Brandt Snedeker, 2011 champion Webb Simpson and 2011 FedExCup champion Bill Haas, Hideki Matsuyama, Major winners Jason Dufner and Retief Goosen, reigning champion Camilo Villegas, two-time champion Davis Love III, 2008 winner Carl Pettersson, 2005 champion K.J. Choi and 2010 winner Arjun Atwal in the field. “Young Guns” Justin Thomas, Ollie Schniederjans, Daniel Berger, Chesson Hadley, Patrick Rodgers and Cameron Smith are also in the field.

Casey is becoming quite a regular at the Wyndham Championship; this year’s tournament will be his fifth-consecutive appearance and his sixth overall. He finished tied for 18th last year in his best finish here. He has one PGA TOUR victory to his credit but has 14 international victories including European Tour wins at last year’s KLM Open and the 2013 Irish Open. A native of England formerly ranked No. 3 in the world, he has represented the European Team in the Ryder Cup three times. Casey is 21st in the current FedExCup point standings and 26th in the Official World Golf Rankings.

Koepka won his first PGA TOUR event earlier this season at the Waste Management Open in Phoenix, but his stellar play has continued throughout the year. The Florida State University alumnus finished tied for third at the FedEx St. Jude Classic; tied for fourth at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open; tied for eighth at the Frys.com Open and tied for 10th at The Open Championship. In addition, he has five international wins. Koepka finished tied for 38th in last year’s Wyndham Championship, his first appearance here. He is 18th in the current FedExCup point standings and 23rd in the Official World Golf Rankings.

Martin, a Clemson University alumnus, will make his second Wyndham Championship appearance. He won the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open earlier this season, finished tied for fourth at the Players Championship, fifth at the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by MasterCard and tied for 10th at the Colonial. He is 24th in the current FedExCup point standings and 61st in the Official World Golf Rankings.
