SERGIO GARCIA quotes …On his round today …
“I didn’t do much until the last 4 or 5 holes, and was able to take advantage of it
I played pretty nicely first 8 holes, then a little bit of struggle then played nicely last 4 holes
I was happy with the way it went”

On last week …
“I did hit the ball nicely last week
I putted like a dog – I putted really, really bad
Today, finally made some good putts, made a bomb on the fourth hole and a good one on 5
I hit some close ones coming in
I felt like the game is a little bit better — I hit some nice putts yesterday and they didn’t drop and today they did.”

On winning again …
“Winning everywhere is great, it doesn’t matter if its here or in your backyard”
“Today was a beginning to hopefully put myself in a good position for tomorrow”

On status of the Wyndham as a tournament …
“Now with the new greens the players are looking at it little bit differently — more challenging
It’s always right before the FedEx Cup so it’s tough to get the top, top players
There’s a thin line between the kind of players you can get here”

On Ryder Cup …
“Everybody knows how much the Ryder Cup means to me
I was very disappointed last week when I didn’t make the cut and fell out of top 10
At the same time, I have a chance this week and I’m going to give myself a great shot
I love the Ryder Cup and love to be in it – If I’m in it, I will give it my best shot and if I’m not, I’ll be the biggest fan watching at home on TV.”

JIMMY WALKER
On his round …
“I started off just wanting to hit a bunch of fairways. I had a really good chip-in on 2 … I hit 8 iron on 16 right behind the hole.
When I got here I thought it was playing pretty tough … Today I hit it about the same I just made more putts.
It was pretty boring looking golf – not a lot of drivers or 3-woods … bunting 5 woods off the tee. I was playing with J.B. (Holmes) and he was bombing driver everywhere.”

On the course changes …
“I don’t think anybody knew what to expect — young greens can be pretty firm.”

On his season …
“I did it last year with the same kind of start. I had a cortisone shot the week of the U.S. Open really helped and killed everything that was in there. I haven’t had a loss of strength but it changed my routine for a while.”
