GREENSBORO, N.C.  – Three former major championship winners, Vijay Singh, David Toms and Mike Weir, have all joined the Wyndham Championship field, it was announced today.  The 74th annual Wyndham Championship is set for Aug. 12-18, 2013.

These players join a field that also includes commitments from defending champion Sergio Garcia, reigning FedExCup champion and 2007 Wyndham winner Brandt Snedeker, 2011 Wyndham winner and 2012 U.S. Open champion Webb Simpson, Wyndham winners Davis Love III and Carl Pettersson as well as former major winners Zach Johnson, Lucas Glover and Stewart Cink and European stars Padraig Harrington, Martin Kaymer and Paul Casey.

Singh has three top-10 finishes among his eight previous Wyndham Championship appearances; he finished tied for fourth in 2011.  He has three major championship victories among his 34 PGA TOUR wins, and he also has 22 international victories.  A native of Fiji, he won the 2008 FedExCup championship.  He was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2006 and is third in the PGA TOUR career earnings.

Toms will make his 15th Wyndham Championship appearance this year; he finished second in the Wyndham in 2010 for his best finish here.  He is 15th on the Wyndham Championship’s all-time money-winner’s list with $921,317.  He won the 2001 PGA Championship and has 13 PGA TOUR wins.  He has represented the United States on three Ryder Cup teams and four Presidents Cup teams.  Toms is seventh in career PGA TOUR earnings and was inducted into the Gulf States Section PGA Hall of Fame last year.

Weir won the Masters in 2003, has eight PGA TOUR victories and is making his fifth Wyndham Championship appearance; his best finish came in 1999 when he finished tied for 19th.  He last played the Wyndham in 2010.   Weir was injured for a significant portion of the last two seasons and continues to recover from his most recent injury – a torn tendon in his right elbow.
