GREENSBORO, N.C. – With its tournament set for the waning days of summer, the Wyndham Championship is providing what could be the last escape from the routine before school resumes, and with multiple methods of free admission, the Wyndham is more affordable than ever. The 74th annual Wyndham Championship begins Monday.
For the first three days of tournament week, Monday’s Kevin Harvick Foundation Pro-Am presented by Technology Concepts & Design, Tuesday’s PGA TOUR practice rounds and Wednesday’s New Breed Logistics Pro-Am, admission will be free of charge until 11 a.m. for the first 2,000 fans that arrive at Sedgefield Country Club, the tournament announced today.
After 11 a.m. each day or after the first 2,000 people arrive at the Sedgefield gates, whichever comes first, $15 regular-priced tickets will be required for entry. And as always, children under the age of 15 are admitted free of charge with a paying adult. Regular ticket prices return for official tournament play Thursday through Sunday.
Teachers representing Piedmont Triad-area kindergarten through high school institutions and one guest will receive free admission to the tournament with a current school identification card Wednesday, Aug. 14 through Sunday, Aug. 18. This free admission is courtesy of Technology Concepts & Design, Inc., the presenting sponsor of Monday’s Kevin Harvick Foundation Pro-Am.
In honor of the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attack in 2011, D.H. Griffin Companies underwrote the cost for all Piedmont Triad first responders and a guest to attend that year’s tournament free of charge. Once again this year, and for the third-consecutive year, D.H. Griffin Companies will provide free admission for Piedmont Triad Fire Fighters, Emergency Medical Technicians and Law Enforcement Officers; they need only show a valid identification card to be admitted to the Wyndham Championship free of charge with one guest Wednesday, Aug. 14 through Sunday, Aug. 18.
As announced yesterday, in conjunction with Wyndham Worldwide’s Military Outpost, members of the Military will also receive free admission again this year. Members of the military, including those on active duty, reservists, veterans and their immediate families will receive free admission to the tournament with a current military identification card courtesy of Wyndham Worldwide.
