Wyndham Volunteers Get Free Admission to Greater Hickory Kia Classic and SAS Championship

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Wyndham Championship PGA TOUR event and the Greater Hickory Kia Classic at Rock Barn and SAS Championship Champions Tour events have partnered to allow volunteers from all three tournaments gain free admission to the other two, the tournaments announced today.  The 75th anniversary Wyndham Championship is set for Aug. 11-17, 2014 at Sedgefield Country Club.  The 14th annual SAS Championship is Oct. 6-12, 2014 at Prestonwood Country Club in Cary, N.C., and the 12th annual Greater Hickory Kia Classic is set for Oct. 13-19, 2014 at Rock Barn Golf & Spa in Conover, N.C.

These three professional golf tournaments are contested within a three hour drive of each other making it an easy drive for fans to attend all three regardless of where they live.  Volunteers from each of the three tournaments need only show their tournament credential for grounds admission to the other two.  Volunteers will be responsible for parking charges at each tournament.

“We have been doing this exchange with the Greater Hickory Kia Classic for a few years now, and it’s a real benefit to our volunteers,” Wyndham Championship tournament director Mark Brazil said.  “This year, we are very happy to add the SAS Championship in Cary to the mix.  Now our volunteers can see North Carolina’s Champions Tour events in October, and their volunteers can see our PGA TOUR event in August.  That’s a great benefit for all of our volunteers, and we thank our friends in Hickory and Cary for agreeing to this partnership.”

“We’re have been thrilled that our volunteers have had the opportunity to attend the Wyndham Championship for the last few years as part of the benefits of being a volunteer,” Greater Hickory Kia Classic executive tournament director Jim Correll said.  “Now with the SAS Championship joining the arrangement, we have made volunteering at the Greater Hickory Kia Classic an even greater value.   We appreciate Mark Brazil at the Wyndham and Jeff Kleiber at the SAS Championship for making this possible, and we look forward to returning the favor when their volunteers can attend our event.”

“This arrangement is a fantastic added value for our SAS Championship volunteers,” SAS Championship tournament director Jeff Kleiber said.  “We all know professional golf tournaments aren’t possible without a huge contingent of volunteers, and I can’t think of a better way to thank them than provide opportunities for them to attend the Wyndham and the Greater Hickory Kia Classic as fans so they can watch the tournaments and enjoy them.  We are very happy to join this partnership with two fantastic tournaments and look forward to telling our volunteers about this added benefit.”
