WYNDHAM CHAMPIONSHIP SEEKS VOLUNTEER CADDIES

GREENSBORO, N.C. – – The Wyndham Championship is inviting Piedmont Triad residents to serve as volunteers when the PGA TOUR returns to The Triad Aug. 13-19. Volunteers who work four shifts or more will receive a Wyndham travel gift certificate for three days two nights in one of 28 popular destinations across the United States. Guests will stay in Wyndham-affiliated properties (Includes Wyndham Hotels, Ramada, Days Inn, etc.) or other three-star or better properties. To receive this gift from Wyndham, the volunteer must be over the age of 21, and the offer is limited to one per family. Wyndham will provide a total of 300 travel certificates. As it does every year, the Wyndham Championship depends on area volunteers to make the Piedmont Triads PGA TOUR event a success. In addition to the Tournament Committee and various chairmen that volunteer their time to support the event, the tournament counts on additional Piedmont Triad residents to fill positions that are vital parts of tournament operations. The primary area of need is for volunteers to serve as caddies in the AIG Support Our Troops Monday Pro-Am on Aug. 13. The other area of need is for Gallery Control personnel; these people will work inside the ropes throughout the golf course, assuring a professional experience for golfers and fans alike. A few volunteer positions remain in other areas, but caddies and gallery control are the primary areas with remaining availability. Caddying during the pro-am gives fans with golf knowledge and etiquette an opportunity to walk 18 holes with a PGA TOUR professional. Adults and children age 13 and older can serve as standard bearers, walking with a group of PGA TOUR professionals to keep the gallery up to date on scores from the group. Among the 28 locations from which volunteers may choose are Destin, Fla., Daytona Beach, Fla., Orlando, For Lauderdale, Fla., Washington, D.C., Myrtle Beach, S.C., Nashville, Tenn., Branson, Mo., San Antonio, Texas, Lake Tahoe, Nev., Las Vegas, Sonoma, Calif., San Francisco, Palm Springs, Calif., San Diego and St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. Additional information and en electronic sign up form is available by clicking on volunteers at wyndhamchampionship.com. The 2007 Wyndham Championship is set for Aug. 13-19 at Forest Oaks Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. Tickets can be purchased online at wyndhamchampionship.com.
