Wyndham Championship, Winston-Salem Open Launch Ticket Co-Op Promotion

GREENSBORO, N.C. – For several years, the Wyndham Championship has been promoting the entire Piedmont Triad region through its tournament, and now, the 76-year old event is partnering with the Winston-Salem Open tennis tournament to promote the Piedmont Triad’s only two major-league sports events together, the events announced today. The 2015 Winston-Salem Open is set for Aug. 22-29, 2015 at the Wake Forest University Tennis Center adjacent to BB&T Field; the 76th annual Wyndham Championship is set for Aug. 17-23, 2015 at Sedgefield Country Club.

Through this Co-Op, Piedmont Triad sports fans can purchase tickets to both events at one low price. One $50 ticket provides access to one day at each event; these tickets are good for a specific day of Wyndham Championship play and a specific session of Winston-Salem Open competition. One $120 ticket provides access to three days at each event, and these tickets are valid on any day of each competition. The offer is valid through Aug. 20, 2015. Co-Op tickets may be purchased at either http://wyndhamchampionship.com/spectators/tickets/ or www.winstonsalemopen.com.

“We’ve been using the Wyndham Championship to promote the entire Piedmont Triad region for a long time,” Wyndham Championship tournament director Mark Brazil said. “So it makes perfect sense that our region’s two major-league sports events work together to promote both events and expose them to as many people throughout our region as we can. With our events basically back-to-back, sports fans can pretty much transition from the PGA TOUR straight into Emirates Airlines U.S. Open Series competition on consecutive days. That’s a neat opportunity, and we appreciate Bill Oakes and his staff at the Winston Salem Open for working with us to put it together.”

“We are very happy to offer this opportunity to sports fans in the Triad,” tournament director Bill Oakes said. “The Winston-Salem Open and the Wyndham Championship are proud to bring professional golf and tennis to this area. But the real winners here are the fans of both events that now have an inexpensive way to see some of the best golf and tennis players in the world right here in the Triad.”
