CHRYSLER CLASSIC TICKET PROMOTION RETURNS

GREENSBORO, N.C. – – As the first swing in the Piedmont Triad’s PGA TOUR event draws nearer, golf fans wishing to make an early commitment to purchasing their Chrysler Classic of Greensboro tickets will be rewarded with a tremendous discount.
Ticket sales for the 2006 event begin this Monday, and tournament organizers will herald the kickoff by offering a five-day half-price sale to early comers.
This year’s classic will be played Oct 2-8, and the newest additions to join the star-studded field are tour pros Corey Pavin, Kenny Perry, Brad Faxon, Paul Azinger, Peter Lonard, Steve Stricker and 2003 Chrysler Classic winner Shigeki Murayama. These players join John Daly, Davis Love III, Carl Pettersson, Tim Clark, defending champion K.J. Choi and many others who previously have committed to the Piedmont Triad’s PGA TOUR event.
The half-price tickets — which are available only to those queuing up in person at the Chrysler Classic office, 401 N. Greene St., in downtown Greensboro, or calling the office at (336) 379-1570 — can be used on any single day during tournament play, Thursday, Oct. 5 through Sunday, Oct. 8; or can be used as a passport for all three practice-round days, Monday, Oct. 2 through Wednesday, Oct. 4. Children 15 and under are admitted free with a paying adult.
“This promotion was very popular last year,” tournament director Mark Brazil said. “We wanted to give golf fans and their families an opportunity to experience the PGA TOUR in an affordable manner. Through this ticket sale, a family of four with two children 15 years old or younger can enjoy a day at the Chrysler Classic for just $25. That’s an amazing price for a major league sports event.”
The 2006 Chrysler Classic is set for Oct. 2-8 at Forest Oaks Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. The tournament thanks Daimler-Chrysler for 11 great years of partnership and Premier Partners, AIG, Harris Teeter and VF Corporation. Additional tournament information is available at www.chryslerclassic.org or through the tournament office at (336) 379-1570.
