PAST CHAMPIONS KEVIN KISNER, TOM KIM JOIN FIELD

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Two past champions, 2021 champion Kevin Kisner and 2022 champion Tom Kim, joined the field and will play next week’s Wyndham Championship; 10 past champions are now in the field, the tournament announced today. The 86th annual Wyndham Championship is set for July 30-Aug. 3, 2025 at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C.

These players join FedExCup No. 7 Ben Griffin, former world No. 1 Adam Scott, Max Homa, 2022 U.S. Open Champion Matt Fitzpatrick, Scottish Open Champion and FedExCup No. 23 Chris Gotterup, FedExCup No. 15 Robert MacIntyre, FedExCup No. 26 and past champion Lucas Glover, FedExCup No. 29 Sungjae Im, FedExCup No. 30 Ryan Fox, FedExCup No. 33 Thomas Detry, defending champion Aaron Rai, past champions Si Woo Kim, J.T. Poston, two-time champion Brandt Snedeker and Webb Simpson in the field.

Although Kisner is spending a lot of time in the NBC and Golf Channel broadcast booth, he finished tied for eighth at the ISCO Championship earlier this month for his best finish of the season. He will make his 10th Wyndham Championship start next week. In addition to his 2021 victory, Kisner finished tied for third in 2020 and tied for eighth in 2014 for his best showings at Sedgefield. Kisner’s 2021 victory will forever be remembered for the two hole, six-way playoff that determined the champion. A native and resident of Aiken, S.C., he represented the United States in The Presidents Cup in 2017 and ’22.

Kim captured his first PGA TOUR win at the Wyndham Championship in 2022 in his first appearance at Sedgefield and is making his second appearance. He opened the Wyndham Championship with a quadruple bogey but went onto finish the opening round with a 3-under par 67 to put himself near the lead, and he was tied for the lead through 36 holes. In the final round, Kim tied Brandt Snedeker’s front-side scoring record making the turn with an 8-under par 27 on his way to a final-round 61 and a five-stroke victory setting the tournament record for lowest final-round score and lowest final-round score by a tournament winner. He became the first player in PGA TOUR history to open with quadruple bogey and go onto win the tournament.

Kim is 89th in FedExCup points and 62nd in the Official World Golf Rankings. In addition to his Wyndham Championship win, he won the Shriners Children’s Open in 2022 and ’23, and he has seven international wins. Kim was set to defend his title in 2023 but sprained his ankle at the Open Championship and withdrew from the tournament.
