Lucas Glover, New Zealand’s Ryan Fox Among Early Player Commitments

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Past champion Lucas Glover and New Zealand’s Ryan Fox will play the Wyndham Championship later this summer, the tournament announced today. The 86th annual Wyndham Championship is set for July 30-Aug. 3, 2025 at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C.

“We still have a long way to go, but I’m really optimistic about our field this year,” Executive Director Mark Brazil said. “Ryan is a great player with two wins this season and has a really bright future ahead of him.  Lucas continues to play at a high level, and it would not surprise me to see him play well at the Wyndham Championship. These are two really strong players to lead us off, and I’m confident this year’s field could end up being one of our strongest ever.”

Glover is currently 30th in the FedExCup point standings and 45th in the Official World Golf Rankings. The Clemson University alumnus hasn’t won yet this season, but he has four top-10 finishes: tied for third at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and THE PLAYERS Championship, tied for eighth at the Valspar Championship and tied for ninth at the Travelers Championship last week. The 2025 tournament will be Glover’s 21st Wyndham Championship start; he won the Wyndham Championship in 2023 and went onto win the first FedExCup Playoff event.

Glover received the Order of the Palmetto from South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster last year. South Carolina’s highest civilian honor recognizes a lifetime of extraordinary achievement, service and contributions on a national or statewide scale. A passionate Clemson Tigers fan; he was inducted into the Clemson Athletic Hall of Fame in 2007 and the South Carolina Sports Hall of Fame in 2024.

Fox, who turned professional in 2011, is 26th in FedExCup points and 30th in the Official World Golf Rankings. He won the RBC Canadian Open following a four-hole playoff and the ONEFlight Myrtle Classic following a one-hole playoff. He also has eight international victories including the 2023 BMW PGA Championship. He represented New Zealand in the 2016 and ’18 World Cup and the Summer Olympic games in 2016, 2020 and ‘24. A native and resident of Aukland, New Zealand, Fox missed the cut in his first Wyndham Championship appearance last year.

Fox’s father, Grant, was the main goalkicker for the New Zealand national rugby team (commonly known as the All Blacks) from 1985-‘93. Grant helped the All Blacks win the inaugural Rugby World Cup in 1987 and was inducted into the New Zealand Sports Hall of Fame in 1999. Fox credits his father for instilling in him the work ethic necessary to succeed on the PGA TOUR.
