Major Championship Winners Justin Rose, Francesco Molinari Join Field

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Major Championship winners Justin Rose and Francesco Molinari will play next month’s Wyndham Championship, the tournament announced today during its virtual media day. The 82nd annual Wyndham Championship is set for Aug. 11-15, 2021 at Sedgefield Country Club.

These players join international stars Jason Day, the 2015 PGA Championship winner, and Tommy Fleetwood, two-time champion Brandt Snedeker, 2011 Wyndham champion and 2012 U.S. Open champion Webb Simpson, East Carolina University alum Harold Varner III, Will Zalatoris and 2011 FedExCup champion Bill Haas in the tournament field.

The 2018 FedExCup champion will make his sixth Wyndham Championship appearance in two weeks; he finished tied for fifth here in 2009 and tied for sixth in 2006. He will make his second Wyndham Championship start next month; he finished tied for 24th in 2014, his only appearance at Sedgefield. He hasn’t won yet this season but finished tied for eighth at The Genesis Invitational and The American Express and finished tied for 10th at the Farmers Insurance Open. With only 14 starts this season, Molinari is 136th in FedExCup points and 151st in the Official World Golf Rankings.
