MATTHEW WOLFF, KEVIN KISNER, MATT KUCHAR JOIN FIELD

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Matthew Wolff, Kevin Kisner and Matt Kuchar are the latest additions to what is becoming an excellent Wyndham Championship field, the tournament announced today. The 82nd annual Wyndham Championship is set for Aug. 11-15, 2021 at Sedgefield Country Club.

These players join fan favorite Rickie Fowler, world No. 8 Louis Oosthuizen, two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson, major winners Adam Scott, Jason Day, Justin Rose, Francesco Molinari and Gary Woodland, Tommy Fleetwood, two-time Wyndham champion Brandt Snedeker, 2011 Wyndham champion and 2012 U.S. Open champion Webb Simpson, FedExCup No. 11 Jason Kokrak, FedExCup No. 13 Sam Burns, defending champion Jim Herman, former champions Si Woo Kim, J.T. Poston, Ryan Moore, Camilo Villegas and K.J. Choi, East Carolina University alum Harold Varner III, Will Zalatoris and 2011 FedExCup champion Bill Haas in the tournament field.

Wolff turned professional in 2019 after playing two seasons at Oklahoma State University and went onto win the 3M Open that year. That tournament remains his sole PGA TOUR victory, but he’s had some excellent finishes this season including second at the 2020 U.S. Open played last fall and tied for 15th at the 2021 U.S. Open earlier this summer. He is 62nd in FedExCup points and 38th in the Official World Golf Rankings. The Agoura Hills, Calif., native finished tied for 19th in the 2019 Wyndham Championship and in the 2015 AJGA Wyndham Invitational presented by Truist, also played at Sedgefield Country Club. He is one of 94 AJGA Wyndham Invitational alumni to earn PGA TOUR membership.

Wolff has a commanding lead in the Aon Risk Reward Challenge, a season-long race in which a strategic hole is selected at every PGA TOUR event. Each player’s best two scores on that hole are recorded. The leader after the Wyndham Championship wins $1 Million, but the winner must play at least 40 rounds. Entering this week’s World Golf Championships – FedEx St. Jude Invitational, Wolff was six rounds short. If Wolff fails to reach the required 40 rounds, the second-place golfer, Louis Oosthuizen, who is also in the Wyndham Championship field, would earn the $1 Million bonus.

Kisner is 50th in the Official World Golf Rankings and 68th in the FedExCup point standings. A native and resident of Aiken, S.C., he is a three-time PGA TOUR winner. He hasn’t won this season but finished second at the RSM Classic, tied for fifth at the Travelers Championship and tied for eighth at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. He represented the United States in The Presidents Cup in 2017. He finished tied for third here last year – his best finish in six previous Wyndham Championship appearances.

Kuchar is making his fifth Wyndham Championship appearance but his first at Sedgefield Country Club; he last played here in 2005. He is a nine-time PGA TOUR winner with three international victories, four Ryder Cups and four Presidents Cups to his credit. He hasn’t won this season but finished third at the World Golf Championships – Dell Technologies Match Play, tied for 12th at the Valero Texas Open and tied for 17th at the AT&T Byron Nelson. He is 120th in FedExCup points and 78th in the Official World Golf Rankings.

Golfers not playing in the World Golf Championships – FedEx St. Jude Invitational or the Barracuda Championship can join next week’s field until 5 p.m. eastern time this afternoon. Those playing in those two events may join the Wyndham Championship field until 30 minutes after Friday play concludes at their respective tournaments.

New this year, the Wyndham Championship will be open to the public Wednesday through Sunday only. All tickets will be digital, and bring your Wyndham Rewards Earner® Card because the Wyndham Championship is cashless.
