Patrick Reed Wins WGC-Mexico Championship, Joins Wyndham Rewards Top 10

Patrick Reed birdied three of the last four holes on his way to winning the World Golf Championships – Mexico Championship by one stroke over Bryson DeChambeau.  With the win, the 2013 Wyndham Championship winner jumped 28 spots to fifth place in the FedExCup point standings and the Wyndham Rewards Top 10.  Reed birdied the 15th, 16th and 17th holes to open a two-stroke lead over the field.  After pushing his tee shot into the trees on the right on the 72nd hole, Reed punched out into the fairway, played his shot to the green and two-putted for bogey and his eighth PGA TOUR victory.  Justin Thomas finished tied for sixth and remained atop the standings.

Brooks Koepka claimed the $2 Million first-place bonus in the inaugural $10 million Wyndham Rewards Top 10 Bonus last season.  The Wyndham Rewards Top 10 not only adds drama to the Wyndham Championship as the final event before the FedExCup Playoffs but also puts an even greater premium on excelling over the course of the FedExCup Regular Season.

The top-10 Regular Season finishers in FedExCup points following the Wyndham Championship – also sponsored by Wyndham Rewards – reap the benefits of the Wyndham Rewards Top 10. The regular season points leader earns $2 million, followed by $1.5 million for the runner-up with the 10th-place finisher earning $500,000.
