TOMMY FLEETWOOD, RAFA CABRERA BELLO JOIN WYNDHAM CHAMPIONSHIP FIELD

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Two European Tour stars, Tommy Fleetwood and Rafa Cabrera Bello, will return to the Wyndham Championship in two weeks, the tournament announced today. The 83rd annual Wyndham Championship is set for Aug. 3-7, 2022 at Sedgefield Country Club.

These players join World No. 15 Billy Horschel, former World No. 1 and major championship winners Adam Scott and Jason Day, three-time champion Davis Love III, defending champion Kevin Kisner and 2019 champion J.T. Poston in the Wyndham Championship field.

A native and resident of Southport, England, Fleetwood is 26th in the Official World Golf Rankings, No. 9 in the European Tour DP World Tour standings and 47th in FedExCup points. Fleetwood is six-time international winner who played on the European Ryder Cup team in 2018 and 2020 but is still seeking his first PGA TOUR victory. He finished tied for fourth at last week’s Open Championship and the Scottish Open two weeks ago as well as tied for fifth at the PGA Championship. Fleetwood will make his third-straight Wyndham Championship appearance; he finished tied for 59th in 2020 for his best Sedgefield showing.

Cabrera Bello returns to the Wyndham Championship on a sponsor’s exemption and will make his fifth appearance. He finished tied for fifth in 2016, for his best finish at Sedgefield. He has five international victories including last year’s ACCIONA Open de España. A native and resident of Spain, Cabrera Bello played for the European Team at the 2016 Ryder Cup and finished tied for fifth at the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Brazil. Cabrera Bello is 26th in the European Tour DP World Tour Rankings and 162nd in the Official World Golf Rankings.
