Tropical Wear Contest Set for Saturday

GREENSBORO, N.C. – – Fans attending the Wyndham Championship tomorrow have a chance to win a vacation from Wyndham – the only catch is they’ll have to dress in their best tropical wear to win the inaugural Wyndham Championship Tropical Wear Contest to earn a vacation.

During the third round of the Wyndham, Piedmont Triad golf fans should come to Sedgefield in their most creative tropical outfit.  Tropical wear such as beach hats, sandals, Hawaiian shirts, shorts, skirts, grass skirts, sarongs, cover-ups, scuba gear, etc. are examples of acceptable contest attire.  Thong bikinis and other clothing that is not widely considered family friendly will not be eligible for the contest.

Wyndham Championship officials will be on the course Saturday looking for the best, most creative tropical outfits, and those fans whose outfits warrant tournament staff to take a picture will be invited to the Wyndham Boardwalk adjacent to the Sedgefield Clubhouse at 4 p.m. to compete for the first-place prize.  Tropical wear-clad fans can also participate in the contest by simply showing up at the Boardwalk prior to judging on Saturday to be a part of the official contest.  Wyndham executives and WKRR – Rock 92 morning show hosts Chris Kelly and Biggie in addition to 107.5 WKZL morning show hosts Katie and Jared will serve as the contest judges.

First place will win a seven-night Wyndham stay from Resort Condominiums International and be offered the opportunity to be featured in the 2013 Wyndham Championship marketing campaign.  Second place will receive a four-day, three-night Wyndham stay compliments of Wyndham Vacation Ownership, and third place will receive a two-night stay at the Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort in Orlando compliments of Wyndham Hotel Group.  In addition, access to the Wyndham beach viewing platform across the lake from the 15th green at Sedgefield will be randomly distributed to people that are dressed for the contest.  Everyone who participates in the contest judging will receive a small prize.
